The hiring of Bellflower St. John Bosco assistant coach Jelani Gardner as the new head coach at Pasadena La Salle has led to the arrival of two very good incoming freshmen players.

Vance Jackson, who’s 6 feet 6, and Milan Acquaah, who’s 6-1, both played last weekend for La Salle in the Crespi tournament.

Jackson has been considered one of the best eighth-graders in Southern California. He scored 23 points in his debut against Burbank Providence.
