Baseball: Ty Moore is state player of the year

Ty Moore of Santa Ana Mater Dei has been named the state player of the year by Cal-Hi Sports.

Moore, a pitcher-outfielder, was 12-1 on the mound with an 0.83 ERA and batted .406 with three home runs. He has signed with UCLA.

He also was selected the Gatorade state player of the year.
