Baseball: Newbury Park takes 2-0 lead in third inning

Taylor Zander hit an RBI double to score Nick Lovullo from third and Ricky Davis hit an RBI double to score Zander to give Newbury Park a 2-0 lead over Corona after three innings in the Southern Section Division 1 final at Dodger Stadium.

Lovullo led off with a line drive down the left-field line and ended up on third when the ball got past left fielder Adrian Marmolejo.

Newbury Park hitters have three doubles, all shots hit to left field.

Update: Corona got singles by Zac Cavazos and Adrian Marmolejo to start the fourth. After a hit batter to load the bases, Derek Robison hit an RBI single, cutting Newbury Park’s lead to 2-1.
