A season-long quest comes to an end on Saturday when the Oak Park boys’ volleyball team and its dedicated group of 10 seniors plays for the Southern Section Division 2 championship against Corona del Mar in a 4:30 p.m. match at Cypress College.

Oak Park has been to the championship four times in the last six seasons but is winless in the finals. This time, the Eagles are seeded No. 1 and determined to bring home a title.

There should be plenty of excitement at Cypress. The Division 1 final matching Loyola and Mira Costa at 7:30 p.m. brings together two of the top teams in the nation. Loyola has won 11 section titles. Mira Costa has won six.

Cathedral is playing Santa Monica at 4 p.m. for the Division 4 championship. In Division 3, it’s Warren vs. South Torrance at 2 p.m. In Division 5, it’s Viewpoint vs. Chadwick at 1:30 p.m.
