Volleyball: It’s a Loyola-Mira Costa Division 1 final

Top-seeded Los Angeles Loyola coasted to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-22 semifinal victory over Anaheim Servite on Tuesday night to advance to the Southern Section Division 1 championship match on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Cypress College.

The Cubs will have a rematch against Mira Costa, which defeated Esperanza in four games. Loyola defeated Mira Costa earlier this season in a nonleague match.

Nick Porterfield had 12 kills and Alex Slaught 11 to lead the Cubs, who will be seeking their 12th Southern Section volleyball championship.
