Cassandra Perez hit a hard ground ball through the legs of Carson second baseman Brianna Tautalafua to score teammates Natalie Winokur and McKenna Arriola to give El Camino Real a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning of the City championship game at UCLA.

Senior Karyn Wright has four strikeouts through three innings for the second-seeded Conquistadores. Alicia Barajas bunted for a single with two outs in the bottom of the third--the first hit for either team. Slugger Darian Tautalafua was hit by a pitch in the first inning and lined out to right field to close the third inning for top-seeded Carson.
