Keeping tabs: Kevin Pillar

May 15, 2012 |  7:00 am

Former Chaminade High standout Kevin Pillar is at it again in the hitting department.

The 23-year-old set an NCAA Division II record with a 54-game hitting streak during his days at Cal State Dominguez Hills. On Monday, he was named the Midwest League Batter of the Week after hitting .536 for the Lansing Lugnuts.

He went six for six with six RBIs, including a grand slam, in a 16-4 victory against Dayton. He was a 32nd-round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays.
