Football: Oaks Christian selects Jeff Woodruff as coach

May 2, 2012 | 10:37 am

It won't be official until a news release comes out at 5:15 p.m., but Oaks Christian has selected UTEP assistant Jeff Woodruff to replace Bill Redell as football coach. That has been confirmed by people at Oaks Christian who are not authorized to go on the record yet about the hire.

Woodruff has been coaching college athletes for more than 30 years and was head coach at Eastern Michigan.

He's expected to retain defensive coordinator Mark Bates as a top assistant with the Lions.

He will be introduced at a 6 p.m. rally in the school's gym.
