Boys' basketball: Taft promotes assistant coach C.J. Williams

May 15, 2012 |  8:59 am

C.J. Williams has been selected head coach at Woodland Hills Taft, replacing Jason Hart, who resigned to become an assistant coach at Pepperdine.

Williams, 32, who played basketball at Westchester and Boise State, was Hart's No. 1 assistant.

"The kids absolutely love him," assistant principal Robert Clarke said.

Said Williams: "I'm super excited about the opportunity."

It will be his first head coach position.
