Boys' basketball: Steve Wachs is out as coach at Campbell Hall

Steve Wachs has resigned after three years as coach at North Hollywood Campbell Hall. His record was 49-37. He intends to focus on his job as a full-time teacher at Campbell Hall.

But clearly, some people were not pleased that the Vikings went 12-19 while having one of the best freshman players in Southern California in Aaron Holiday. Athletic Director Juan Velazquez said the school decided to go in a different direction.

Velazquez said the school will hire an interim coach for this coming season and open the position again in December.

This is the latest coaching change in the powerful small schools Alpha League, where Chatsworth Sierra Canyon Coach Ryan Silver recently left and the school promoted assistant Ty Nichols.

In another coaching change, Randall Harris has been hired as basketball coach at Reseda. He has coached at Chatsworth, Taft, Birmingham and L.A. Trade Tech.
