The summer basketball season is about to begin, and Long Beach Poly deserves to be the No. 1 team in the Southland after the arrival of 6-foot-6 Kameron Chatman, a junior-to-be who moved to the area from Oregon.

He’ll join returnees Roschon Prince and Jordan Bell to form an imposing trio of future college players.

All three should be available when Poly plays in the Fairfax tournament the last week of June.

‘He’s really good,’ Poly Coach Sharrief Metoyer said of the versatile Chatman, who can play point guard, shooting guard or a wing spot.

Chatman moved to Southern California in March.
