Baseball: West Ranch wins first league title in school history

Valencia West Ranch had its first varsity baseball team in 2007. On Tuesday, the Wildcats clinched their first Foothill League championship with a 6-3 victory over Saugus.

JC Cloney threw a complete game, striking out 10 while allowing five hits. Tony Slauson went three for four and made a diving catch in right field to end the game.

Valencia defeated Canyon, 6-4. Nick Talmo threw five innings of shutout relief. Brian Mundell had two hits. Hart defeated Golden Valley, 8-5.
