Another great tale from the City Section.

The Division II first-round playoff game between Van Nuys and Dorsey at L.A. Roybal had to be halted with none out in the top of the 10th inning on Tuesday and runners on second and third when the Van Nuys bus driver told the team he had to leave, according to assistant commissioner John Aguirre.

Van Nuys had taken a 9-5 lead.

An attempt to get a bus dispatcher to send another driver was unsuccessful. The bus driver is allowed to work only a certain amount of hours.

The game is expected to resume on Wednesday.

Update: Van Nuys defeated Dorsey, 12-5, on Wednesday for its first playoff win in more than 10 years. Jaime Alcala went four for five with three RBIs. Vladimir Duran struck out 11.
