I caught up with former Encino Crespi standout Trevor Plouffe, who was starting Wednesday night at third base for the Minnesota Twins at Angel Stadium.

Nine years ago, he celebrated in a dog pile with his Crespi teammates after winning a Southern Section championship on the same field in 2003.

Plouffe, a first-round draft pick in 2004, had a special weekend. He proposed to his girlfriend.
