Baseball: Taft sweeps Birmingham, gains third place in West Valley

Woodland Hills Taft came away with a 9-6 victory over Birmingham in 10 innings on Friday to complete a two-game sweep of the Patriots and claim third place in the West Valley League.

Taft had 19 hits and zero errors. Mike Colon went four for five and got the pitching win. Nick Gendian, who threw eight innings on Wednesday, pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh.
