Baseball: Star power in Division 2 semifinal

There will be no lacking of star power on Tuesday when No. 2-seeded Garden Grove Pacifica plays at West Covina South Hills in a Southern Section Division 2 semifinal.

South Hills has a pair of San Diego State signees, catcher CJ Saylor and shortstop Ty France. They helped South Hills win a Division 3 title when they were freshmen.

Pacifica has the senior duo of Kyle Davis and Max Bethell. Davis is coming off a game against Mission Viejo in which he hit two home runs and had seven RBIs and four hits. He’s also 9-1 on the mound. Bethell is 10-1 with a 1.56 ERA and is batting .372.
