Baseball: Justin Jacome comes through in 14-inning game

Justin Jacome, a left-handed pitcher from Redlands East Valley committed to UC Santa Barbara, turned in the clutch performance of Wednesday, throwing 9 2/3 innings of relief while retiring the first 15 batters he faced in his team's 5-4, 14-inning win over Yucaipa.

The victory gave REV the No. 1 spot from the Citrus Belt League. Jacome also had a leadoff triple in the 14th and scored on a sacrifice fly to win the game. He threw 98 pitches, 76 for strikes.

REV is 19-6 and 12-2.
