A two-out, two-strike line-drive single to left field by Ricky Obando, just over the glove of shortstop Isaac Dominguez in the bottom of the seventh, scored Justin Vega from second base and gave Chatsworth a hard-fought 4-3 victory over San Fernando in a City Section Division I semifinal game at USC.

San Fernando had tied the game in the top of the seventh with two runs on an RBI triple by Carlos Robles and a sacrifice fly by Kevin Martinez.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Alonzo Garcia (12-1) hit Vega with a pitch and Chris DeVito got his third hit of the game. After Garcia struck out Scott Voets on a 3-and-2 pitch, Obando faced a 1-and-2 count.

He connected on a curveball, sending Chatsworth to Saturday’s 1 p.m. City championship game at Dodger Stadium and a chance to win a 10th City title.
