Baseball: Chaminade gets 6-1 wild-card victory

West Hills Chaminade turned to Kevin Victoria for its Southern Section Division 2 wild-card against Paso Robles. Victoria came through with nine strikeouts in six innings during a 6-1 victory.

Victoria has become Chaminade’s No. 1 pitcher after going 4-0 in the Mission League. But the Eagles also have left-hander Kevin Lewallyn ready to go for a first-round road game on Thursday at Mission Viejo.

Trabuco Hills rallied for a 5-4 victory over Los Angeles Loyola. Santa Barbara defeated Arcadia, 3-2. Kenny Crawford got 17 infield outs. Conner McManigal had a triple, single and sacrifice fly.

In Division 1, Spencer Dubaich struck out four and walked none in Simi Valley’s 7-4 win over Hart. Nick Vigo and Mykel Davis had two hits apiece. Tim Lopes hit a home run and Edison knocked off Chaparral, 2-0. Tyler Jones threw 5 1/3 innings and Lopes got the final five outs in relief.

Nick Kern threw six shutout innings in Brea’s 3-0 win over JSerra. Four Moorpark pitchers combined on a one-hitter in a 3-0 win over Long Beach Millikan. Jordan Guerrero got the win in relief.

Capistrano Valley got a complete game from Andrew Richards in a 4-2 victory over Oxnard Pacifica. El Modena defeated St. John Bosco, 6-1, behind David Hill, who allowed two hits in six innings. Corona Santiago defeated San Clemente, 11-2, with Chance Sisco hitting a two-run home run and throwing a complete game.

Corona defeated Valencia, 2-0, with Daniel Pena throwing a two-hitter.
