To say this weekend will be a busy one for the Gelalich family would be an understatement.

The father-mother tandem of Greg and Karyn Gelalich will be scrambling around the state looking to follow their three sons.

Danny is a freshman center fielder on La Verne Bonita playing Alhambra in Friday’s 1:30 p.m. Southern Section Division 3 championship game at Dodger Stadium.

Jeff is a junior outfielder starting for UCLA in Friday’s NCAA Regional at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

Matt is a freshman outfielder starting for Pepperdine in Friday’s NCAA Regional at Stanford.

‘It’s going to be rough,’ Greg said of the logistics in trying to support all his sons.

His current plan is to attend the Bonita game at Dodger Stadium, then drive to the UCLA game Friday night. His wife will fly to Palo Alto to watch Matt play.

‘If I find a window of opportunity, I’m going up to Palo Alto,’ he said.

As for having three boys doing well in baseball, Greg said, ‘The boys work hard. I’m just proud of them.’

Bonita Coach John Knott wishes there were more Gelalichs on the way.

‘I asked them to breed more,’ Knott said. ‘I’ve told them, ‘Have as many boys as you can.’ ‘
