Saturday’s Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High brings out the best track and field performers in the state, and the distance runners at Los Angeles Loyola are looking forward to seeing what kind of impact they can make.

At last weekend’s Mustang Relays at Mira Costa, Andrew Bland ran the second fastest 1,600 in the state this season with a time of 4:13.95.

But the intriguing part of Loyola’s team this season is the depth in the distance races. Three other runners broke 4:20: Charles Marquardt (4:16.55), Josh Lewis (4:18.72) and Andrew Verdin (4:19.56).
