Track & Field: Oak Park boys win 4x1600 at Mt. SAC

The morning session has begun on the second and final day of high school competition at the 54th annual Mt. SAC Relays, taking place at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the Mt. San Antonio College campus in Walnut.
In the boys 4x1600 seeded relay, Oak Park’s Sahm Bazargan, James Anderson, Matthew Alvarez and Eric Jones took first place out of 21 schools with a winning time of 18:06.66, followed by Simi Valley (18:08.98) and Canyon Country Canyon (18:10.21).
Phoenix (AZ) Xavier College Prep (21:37.41) was first in the girls 4x1600 seeded relay, followed by an Diego Westview (21:49.89) and Crescenta Valley (22:00.57).
Moorpark’s Mike Picchini, Ruben Juanillo, Mike Keller and Patel Teerth won the Open division boys 4x1600 relay in 18:17.87 to top 30 other schools. San Diego Patrick Henry was second in 18:25.18 and Los Angeles Marshall was third in 18:32.63.
In the Open girls 4x1600 relay, Bolsa Grande’s Raeanna Cortez, Jeanette Zambrano, Kristie Son and Quetzalin Teypayotl took first place out of 15 schools with a time of 21:49.13.
