Football: People are discovering Steven Manfro is a player

Geez, there are some people at UCLA acting surprised that one of the most impressive players during spring practice has been redshirt freshman running back Steven Manfro from Valencia.

Those who watched him at Valencia will be saying, "I told you so."

I still remember Valencia Coach Larry Muir telling me one summer that he had "a secret weapon." And it was Manfro.

Luckily for UCLA, former Coach Rick Neuheisel stepped forward and gave Manfro a scholarship when only Wyoming had done so.

Manfro still must prove himself in a real game this fall, but I wouldn't worry about that. The kid can play.
