Football: Oaks Christian decision is coming this week

An announcement on the new Oaks Christian football coach is expected on Wednesday.

If the Lions decide to promote defensive coordinator Mark Bates, then most of the assistants who helped build the program under Coach Bill Redell are expected to stick around, including offensive coordinator Casey Clausen, who just got married.

Hiring Bates would seem to be the least disruptive option, but it all depends on what the Oaks Christian administration is seeking in a football program that will be moving to the powerful Pac-5 Division this fall.
