Football: Granada Hills to honor 1987 championship team

It has been 25 years since Granada Hills pulled off one of the biggest upsets in City Section championship history, winning the 1987 City 4-A championship over unbeaten Carson in football.

The school will honor the players and coaches from that team this fall. There will be a presentation at halftime of the Oct. 5, 2012 game against Chatsworth. Former coaches Darryl Stroh and Tom Harp are scheduled to be there.

After the game, there will be a gathering at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, where the 1987 championship game will be shown on big screens.
