Football: Garrett White is set to arrive this fall at Edison

April 23, 2012 | 12:47 pm

White_250Long-time Huntington Beach Edison Coach Dave White is feeling a little small these days, because his eighth-grade son, Garrett, has been surging in height.

“He’s already taller than me,” White said.

Garrett has reached 6 feet 1 and will arrive at Edison this fall as a three-sport athlete. He plays football, basketball and volleyball. Two older brothers, Hunter and Matt, were Sunset League MVPs in football.

Garrett is a receiver-defensive back who has been serving as Edison’s ball boy for years.

He has played flag football for four years, and even though he’s never played tackle football, he’s certain to have the toughness gene that comes in the White family.
