Boys' basketball: Marqueze Coleman is MVP in Battle of the Valley

Nevada-bound Marqueze Coleman of Alemany scored 32 points and had 11 rebounds and was named MVP in leading the East past the West, 133-111, in the Battle of the Valley all-star game on Saturday night at Pierce College.

Village Christian's Marquis Salmon supported Coleman with 23 points. The West was led by Oaks Christian guard Chass Bryan, who had 24 points.

In the girls' game, Chaminade's Annie Tarakchian was the MVP in the West's 80-61 victory.
