Baseball: Alonzo Garcia is 8-0 after throwing two-hitter

Sophomore right-hander Alonzo Garcia of San Fernando continues to pass every test. On Saturday, he threw a two-hitter to beat Los Angeles Marshall, 5-0, raising his season record to 8-0. William Vazquez had three hits and Kevin Martinez had two hits for the Tigers (19-4).

In the Trinity League, Santa Ana Mater Dei got a three-run triple from Ryan McMahon during an eight-run sixth inning to help the Monarchs come back from a 3-2 deficit and defeat Santa Margarita, 10-3. St. John Bosco defeated JSerra, 8-2 behind six innings on the mound by sophomore Reid Budrovich. Orange Lutheran is still unbeaten in league after a 9-3 win over Servite. Brent Wheatley struck out eight.

Redlands is 17-1 after a 6-5 win over Fontana. Sean Smith went three for four. Angel Landazuri picked up the save.

Crescenta Valley swept a doubleheader from Chula Vista Mater Dei, 15-0 and 8-0. In the first game, Elliot Surrey struck out 10 in five innings. Ted Beoke had three hits. In the second game, Beoke hit a two-run home run. The Falcons are 12-4.

Palm Desert defeated Los Osos, 5-4. Brooks Kriske struck out nine and had an RBI triple. Max Compton picked up the save.
