Baseball: Agoura is 10-0 in Marmonte League

Another week, another two-game sweep in the Marmonte League for Agoura, which is 16-2-1 overall and 10-0 in league after a 7-3 victory over Westlake on Friday.

Tyler Cohen struck out seven in 2 1/3 innings of relief to pick up his fifth save. Cohen, Bryce Fehmel, Mark Seyler and Brody Fehmel each had two hits.

Newbury Park defeated Simi Valley, 7-2. Taylor Zander had four hits and Matt Haskins finished with three runs batted in. Moorpark defeated Calabasas, 6-2. Bradley Fullerton had two hits. Thousand Oaks defeated Royal, 5-3.

In the Pacific League, Crescenta Valley defeated Burbank, 2-1, in 10 innings. Kyle Murray threw seven innings, striking out 12. Ted Beoke drove in the winning run.

In the Mission League, Hans Hansen gave up one hit in 3 2/3 innings of relief to lead Harvard-Westlake past Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 2-1. Hansen replaced an injured Jack Flaherty in the third inning. Flaherty had to leave with a hip flexor, according to Coach Matt LaCour. Eddie Muhl gave up only two hits in 6 1/3 innings for Notre Dame. Tyler Urbach had the game-winning RBI in the sixth.

Chaminade defeated St. Francis, 1-0. Cole Rutherford’s solo home run in the fourth was the game’s only run. Kevin Victoria threw five shutout innings with six strikeouts. Chad Gubicza threw the final two innings for the save.

In the Century League, Mitch Christensen’s three hits led Esperanza past Villa Park, 9-3.

In the Foothill League, Valencia defeated Hart, 6-2. Brian Mundell had two RBIs and Keston Hiura had three hits. West Ranch defeated Golden Valley, 4-3. JC Cloney broke a tie with an RBI double in the sixth. Avery Ortiz got the win with 3 1/3 innings of relief.

Charter Oak defeated South Hills, 5-1. La Salle knocked off Bishop Amat, 3-2. Grace Brethren defeated Carpinteria, 6-1. Bonita (22-1) defeated West Covina, 11-4. Parker Merritt threw five scoreless innings. Anthony Gonzalez and Thomas Castro had three RBIs each. Northwood defeated Beckman, 8-5.

In the Big VIII League, Riverside North defeated Riverside Poly, 11-4. Andrew Saucedo went three for four. Justin Gheorghe had two doubles.

In the Trinity League, St. John Bosco defeated Servite, 6-1, behind Jesse Soler, who scattered five hits in six innings. Orange Lutheran used an eight-run fourth inning to defeat Mater Dei, 8-3, and move back into sole possession of first place in the Trinity League. Jason Martin had three hits. Santa Margarita defeated JSerra, 7-4.

In the Channel League, Dos Pueblos defeated Santa Barbara, 9-4. In the Moore League, Lakewood defeated Millikan, 3-2. Poly defeated Cabrillo, 9-1.
