Volleyball: Loyola wins Best of the West tournament

Los Angeles Loyola is ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division 1 boys’ volleyball poll, but not for long. The Cubs didn’t lose a set this weekend in winning the Best of the West tournament championship in Poway.

Loyola defeated Servite, 25-13, 25-18, in the championshp match. Nick Porterfield, a UCLA signee, was named tournament most valuable player. Michael Mullahey made the all-tournament team.
