Attention sports fans in Los Angeles. One of the best high school competitions of the season is set for Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. at Loyola Marymount.

That’s when Los Angeles Loyola and Manhattan Beach Mira Costa meet in a boys’ volleyball match that produces one of the most exciting atmospheres for any sport in the Southland.

Loyola is a 11-time section champion and ranked No. 1 in Division 1. Mira Costa is a six-time section champion and ranked No. 3.

Alumni and students come out en force. Many of Loyola’s students live in the South Bay, so it’s almost a neighborhood rivalry in volleyball.

But what makes it so special is the high quality of the action. Lots of players on the court will be playing collegiate volleyball.

So it’s a match not to miss.
