Freshman Nia Britt of Mission Hills Alemany isn’t just good in the shot put. She’s sensational.
She broke her own school record on Thursday with a personal-best mark of 48-9 in a dual meet against Chaminade.
In a matchup of top boys’ shot putters, Encino Crespi sophomore Amir Patterson had a personal best of 55-4 to upset senior Nick Budincich of Loyola in a dual meet.
Budincich’s effort was 54-1. Budincich is the defending Mission League champion.
