No state-wide TV deal for Time Warner Cable

March 2, 2012 |  1:16 pm

Time Warner Cable's attempt to gain broadcast rights for regular-season sporting events for all 10 sections in the California Interscholastic Federation has fallen through.

City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege said the sections could not come to agreement on awarding Time Warner rights to broadcast nonleague and league contests.

Time Warner still has a 15-year deal with the CIF to broadcast state and regional championship games.

Fiege said the City Section and San Diego Sections hope to reach agreement with Time Warner for their games.
