Girls' basketball: La Jolla Country Day 11, Gardena Serra 7 at end of first quarter

March 17, 2012 |  5:27 pm

Top-seeded La Jolla Country Day has a 11-7 lead over second-seeded Gardena Serra after one quarter in their Division IV Southern California Regional final on Saturday at Ontario Colony High.

The Torreys' opened with a suffocating full-court press and held the Cavaliers to two points for much of the quarter.

One of the highlights of the first quarter was when La Jolla Country Day guard Kelsey Plum was fouled on a three-pointer and made the free throw for a four-point play.
