Football: Windward promotes offensive coordinator to head coach

Alvin Cowan, who has been offensive coordinator at L.A. Windward for the past four seasons, has been promoted to head coach.

Cowan was a key figure in Windward winning consecutive eight-man championships. Windward will begin 11-man football this fall.

Cowan played high school football in Texas and went on to play quarterback at Yale, where he set 17 school record, including most passing yards in a season. He graduated in 2004.
