City Section to receive $67,500 from TV deal

The City Section will receive $67,500 beginning in the 2012-13 school year from the first year of a five-year contract with Time Warner Cable to broadcast games, according to City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege.

Each year, the contract calls for a raise of $3,000, Fiege announced at the City Section Interscholastic Athletic Committee meeting on Monday.

IAC will have to decide what to do with the money, whether it might go to reducing dues fees paid by schools or go toward paying for playoff costs such as transportation and hotel fees at state championships.
