Boys’ basketball: Salesian wins state Division IV title

Richmond Salesian has won the Division IV state basketball championship with a 70-56 victory over Los Angeles Price in Sacramento.

Strong fourth-quarter defense and steady play from 6-foot-5 junior Jabari Bird (24 points and five dunks) propelled Salesian to victory.

Khalil Johnson had 17 points, Trey Dickerson 15 and Skylar Spencer 14 for Price, which was trying to win its seventh state title for Coach Michael Lynch.
