Boys’ basketball: Price 56, Gardena Serra 51 at end of third quarter

Los Angeles Price led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter but Gardena Serra went on a 6-0 run to reduce the deficit to four points at 46-42 with about four minutes remaining in the quarter.

Price responded by picking up their defense and quickly regained a double-digit lead.

But Jeremy Wright closed the quarter with a three-point play for Gardena Serra after he was fouled on a jumper and made the free throw. Daddy Ugbede then made a putback layup in the final seconds to make it a five-point game.

Price leads Gardena Serra, 56-51, heading into the fourth quarter of the teams’ Southern California Regional final at Ontario Colony High.
