Baseball: Mater Dei tops JSerra, 4-2

Sophomore Charlie Vorsheck allowed three hits and struck out seven in 6 1/3 innings to help Santa Ana Mater Dei (6-3, 3-1) defeat JSerra, 4-2, in a Trinity League game on Wednesday night at JSerra.

Jeremy Martinez and Ryan Barr each had two RBIs. Ty Moore picked up the save.

Anaheim Servite came up with its first Trinity League win, an 11-9 victory over Santa Margarita. Kyle Anderson had three hits and three RBIs.

Orange Lutheran took over sole possession of first place with a 5-4 win over St. John Bosco. Josh Morgan drove in the go-ahead run with a squeeze in the sixth. Cody Nulph came through with a save in the seventh. Orange Lutheran is 9-2 and 4-0.
