Boys’ basketball: Alemany takes down Price, 82-76

Mission Hills Alemany has demonstrated once again this week that it has one of the best basketball teams in Southern California.

First, the Warriors defeated Encino Crespi on Wednesday to avenge their only loss in the Mission League. And on Saturday, they knocked off L.A. Price, 82-76, at Alemany. Price had won seven consecutive games, including wins over Gardena Serra and Windward. Price missed 16 free throws.

Alemany (22-3) is on an eight-game winning streak. The Warriors had five players reach double figures in scoring, led by point guard Max Guercy, who had 19 points. Bear Henderson had 17, Jerico Richardson 16 and Marqueze Coleman and Brandon Boyd 15 each. Price’s Khalil Johnson had 31 points.

El Camino Real defeated Renaissance, 57-54, behind Julian Richardson, who had 21 points. Oaks Christian defeated Morningside, 48-43. Chass Bryan scored 15 points. Sylmar defeated Campbell Hall, 69-66. Earl Baker had 20 points. Aaron Holiday scored 34 points for Campbell Hall.

Harvard-Westlake defeated Compton Centennial, 56-40.
