Girls' basketball: Mater Dei, Brea Olinda reach final

Nirra Fields scored 27 points and Santa Ana Mater Dei went on a 25-0 run between the first and second quarters en route to a 71-32 victory over unbeaten Corona Santiago in a Southern Section Division 1AA semifinal game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Alexas Williamson had 14 points, Jordan Adams 12 and Kaija Powell 10 for the Monarchs (29-3), who will face Brea in Friday's 8:45 p.m. championship game.

Brea upset top-seeded Long Beach Poly, 49-43. Jasmine Saucer made two free throws with 12 seconds left to clinch the victory when Brea was on top, 45-43. Taylor Spears had 14 points for Brea.  Destiny King scored 20 points for Poly.
