Football: A small revival of the Angelus League

First-year St. Paul football Coach Elijah Asante is giving fans of the old Angelus League something to get excited about.

The Angelus League disbanded in 1992 after 31 years. It was a league that once featured St. Paul, Mater Dei, Servite and Bishop Amat in football. Loyola also played in it at times.

Asante has scheduled home games at what St. Paul calls ‘The Pit’ against Mater Dei on Aug. 31 and Servite on Sept. 28.
