It’s going to be the Land of the Giants on Tuesday night at Harvard-Westlake for a Southern Section Division 4AA quarterfinal game beween the Wolverines and top-seeded Gardena Serra.

I better bring a stool to stand on. Harvard-Westlake has 6-foot-9 David Winfield, 6-8 Zena Edosomwan, 6-7 Josh Hearlihy and 6-5 Derick Newton.

Serra has 6-10 Emmanual Ndumanya, 6-6 Daddy Ugbede, 6-7 Tavrion Dawson and 6-6 Dakarai Tucker.

‘This team matches up inside with us, and I’m trying to figure out if that’s a good thing or a bad thing,’ Harvard-Westlake Coach Greg Hilliard said.

It has been 10 years since Serra and Harvard-Westlake last played at Harvard-Westlake, and it was a thriller. Freshman Ed White made a jump shot at the buzzer to beat Serra, 66-64, in a state playoff game.

‘We need another Ed White,’ Hilliard said.
