Boys’ basketball: Oak Park wins Tri-Valley League title

The neighborhood boys from Oak Park won the Tri-Valley League championship on Wednesday night, receiving inspiration from a vocal home crowd to knock off Oaks Christian, 63-52.

Junior guard Ron Lee Jr., averaging 21.9 points on the season, had 20 points and made terrific decisions on when to drive, when to get rid of the ball and when to shoot. Jackson Hall had 18 points, including three threes. Jared Kaufman added 12 points.

Oak Park improved to 20-7 overall and 9-1 in league. Oaks Christian dropped to 20-5 and 8-2. Chass Bryan led all scorers with 26 points.

The Eagles led by five points at halftime and outscored the Lions, 12-5, in the third quarter. Oaks Christian never got closer than six points in the fourth quarter.
