After an 0-12 record in the Mission League and the announcement that its coach, Bill Bedgood, would be stepping down at the conclusion of the season, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame was given a chance to have some fun competing in the Southern Section Division 4AA playoffs.
And the Knights responded Thursday night by knocking off Delphic League champion Lancaster Paraclete, 51-42, on the road. It gave the Mission League a 6-0 record in playoff action.
Kennedy Edwards scored 18 points and Grant Kraemer contributed 11 points off the bench in the second half.
Notre Dame (10-18) will host No. 4-seeded Los Angeles Price on Friday night in a second-round game.
