No. 2-seeded La Verne Lutheran could be facing a challenge in the Southern Section 4AA playoffs after standout junior guard Eric Cooper Jr. broke the index finger on his right shooting hand during the team’s 72-29 first-round win over Pasadena Marshall.

Now the question is whether Cooper will be able to shoot with the finger bandaged.

‘If he can play, he’ll play,’ said Eric Cooper, Lutheran’s coach.

Cooper is committed to Arizona. Lutheran will play the winner of Thursday’s game between Big Bear and Banning on Friday.
