Boys’ basketball: Damien clinches at least share of Sierra League title

Freshman Jeremy Hemsley had 11 points and Chris Reyes added 10 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks to help La Verne Damien defeat Chino Hills, 48-38, to clinch at least a share of the Sierra League championship.
Damien is 22-2 and 8-0.
In the Trinity League, Katin Reinhardt scored 18 points and Xavier Johnson 16 as Santa Ana Mater Dei routed St. John Bosco, 83-62. The Monarchs (21-2, 8-0) led, 49-17, at halftime. Daniel Hamilton scored 26 points for St. John Bosco (17-6, 6-2).
Etiwanda defeated Los Osos, 73-31, in the Baseline League. Sam Flemming had 15 points and Jordan McLaughlin 14. Etiwanda is 24-1 and 8-0.
In the Alpha League, Windward defeated Sierra Canyon, 71-37. Nicholas Stover had 18 points. Pacific Hills defeated Campbell Hall, 64-50. Cole Huff had 17 points for Campbell Hall.
In the Moore League, Long Beach Poly defeated Long Beach Wilson, 80-42. In the Marmonte League, Simi Valley defeated Westlake, 60-57. Calabasas defeated Thousand Oaks, 46-43. Holden Israel had 20 points. Eric Greene led Thousand Oaks with 19 points. Calabasas is 21-3. Royal defeated Newbury Park, 48-39. Max McCoy had 15 points and five assists.
Gardena Serra clinched the Del Rey League title with a 63-29 win over Bishop Amat. Dakarai Tucker scored 23 points. Serra is 23-2 and 7-0.
In the Pacific League, Muir clinched at least a share of the title with a 75-55 win over Glendale. Andre Frazier and Jelani Mitchell scored 17 points apiece. In the PAC 7, Righetti defeated Pioneer Valley, 80-58. Ryan McGready scored 20 points. Righetti is 18-4 and 7-2.
In the City Section, El Camino Real defeated Birmingham, 61-49. Mike Thomas had 23 points. Taft defeated Cleveland, 67-57. Brandon Perry had 19 points and 17 rebounds. Anthony January finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Crenshaw defeated Locke, 87-53. Brandon Baker scored 21 points and Birdel Hodge 18. Palisades received 21 points from Donovan Johnson in an 82-42 win over Hamilton. Kennedy defeated Reseda, 72-26. Dom Vargas had 19 points. Grant defeated Poly, 78-41. Gor Plavchyan had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Grant is 21-5 and 9-0 in the East Valley League.
