Girls’ basketball: L.A. Windward faces ambitious schedule in 2012

Los Angeles Windward is 13-2 and ranked among the top three girls’ basketball teams in the nation. And 2012 will be a challenge.

The Wildcats begin Alpha League play on Tuesday against North Hollywood Campbell Hall on the road, but the toughest part of the schedule begins when they travel to Arizona State on Jan. 16 to play St. Mary’s of Phoenix, ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps.

Windward also has a game against Long Beach Poly at Long Beach City College on Jan. 28 and against Santa Ana Mater Dei on Feb. 3 at the Nike Extravaganza.
