The football programs at San Pedro and Narbonne have been placed on probation through the 2012 season as punishment for an incident involving fans and coaches near the press box at their Marine League game last season. Both schools will still be eligible for the playoffs.

The action was taken this month by the City Section rules committee. Narbonne coaches sitting in the press box at San Pedro got into an argument with fans in the stands, with school police required to help in the matter.

In other rules committee action, a football player at Fremont and a soccer player at San Fernando have been restricted from playing sports for the remainder of their athletic careers for violating CIF rule 211 in physically attacking game officials. No criminal charges were filed.
