All-star football games aren’t about the games anymore They’re about the players getting some exposure and announcing their college choices on TV.

That’s what’s scheduled to happen on Saturday at 10 a.m. when NBC televises the U.S. Army All-American Bowl from San Antonio.

A group of players who have tried to keep their college choices secret are scheduled to make their announcements during the game. Some haven’t done a great job holding off until Saturday.

Ellis McCarthy of Monrovia and Kevon Seymour of Pasadena Muir are supposed to make their choices public. There’s speculation that McCarthy will pick California over USC. Seymour has USC and UCLA under consideration.

So tune in for the made-for-TV moments. Or not.
